Madhavan Pillai
K. Madhavan Pillai has been the Executive Editor of Better Photography of Infomedia India Limited since November 2007. Mr. Pillai has with him in-depth knowledge on the Art & Science of Photography. He has been associated with the magazine from its inception as an Assistant Editor, Senior Correspondent and Journalist, prior to being appointed as an Executive Editor for Better Photography. Before joining Infomedia, Mr. Pillai served as a Branch Head in a public relations company. He has held positions as a publishing consultant. Apart from commercial assignments in photography, he has also produced several independent video documentaries and corporate films. In his new role, he would take the magazine to the next level by strengthening the brand in the mind of the readers. The objective would be achieved with his profound experience and knowledge in photography, and would work towards offering useful and innovative photography techniques to the readers.

He will speak about his experience in editing Better Photography.

Abhay Sardesai
Abhay Sardesai has been the Editor of ART India, the premier art magazine of India, since November 2002. Under his editorship, the magazine has developed a Culture Studies-oriented approach and has become more inter-disciplinary in its theme-based explorations. He has been a Visiting Faculty in Aesthetics at the Department of English, University of Mumbai, and has also been the Chair of Humanities, Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute of Architecture, Mumbai. He teaches at the Smt. P. N. Doshi Women’s College of Arts and also at various other institutions like Jnanapravaha and TISS. He writes in English and translates from Marathi, Konkani and Gujarati. An associate of the research collective PUKAR, he was the Director of the Writing Across the City project which explored the inter-relationships between literatures and literary cultures in the city of Mumbai. He has written widely on Art and Literature and read from his work at various places including the University of Princeton, University of Cambridge, Mumbai University, S.N.D.T. University, Sarai and NGMA.

He will speak about his experience in editing ART India.

Bina Sarkar
Bina Sarkar Ellias is the founder, editor, designer and publisher of International Gallerie, an award-winning global arts and ideas publication encouraging critical awareness and understanding of cultural diversity as interpreted through the arts. She is also a curator, poet and fiction writer and has been published in anthologies and online sites. She received a Fellowship from the Asia Leadership Fellow Program and Japan Foundation, 2007,  towards research and development of the project, Unity in Diversity:  Envisioning Community Building in Asia and Beyond, the Times Group Yami Women Achievers’ award, 2008, and the FICCI/FLO 2013 award for excellence in her work.

She will speak about her experience in editing and publishing International Gallerie.

Fawzan Hussain
Fawzan Husain has a post graduate degree in Journalism from Bombay School of Journalism. With over 25 years of experience as a photo journalist, he has traveled extensively across India and has done several international assignments. He specializes in Documentary style of photography. Fawzan’s work has been widely exhibited and published. His pictures have found space in many International publications namely; New York Times, The London Telegraph, GEO, Época Negócios -Brazil, South China Morning Post. Earlier, he was associated with Mid-Day Publications and then with India Today magazine for more then a decade. His work is also included in the Permanent Collection of The Museum of Fine Art, Houston, Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts in Japan and Hotel `The Park’ in Bangalore, India.

He will speak about his experience in self-publishing his photo book Between Bombay & Mumbai: 25 years through pictures in a changing city.
